Today's Scripture: "And its twenty pillars and their twenty sockets shall be bronze. The hooks of the pillars and their bands shall be silver." Ex 27:10

5864. Be careful what you mock as it may come back to mock you. JG

See it.

Function unction

Live it.

"He was a one-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater." In 1958 the lyrics were bizarre enough, but it proved that anything could became a top tune if young people accept it and we did. Yesterday I found myself doing a take-off of that song calling the state of the modern church "one-eyed, one-horned flying people pleasers."

The beautiful thing about the church of Jesus Christ is the fact it is not an organization, but a living organism. By that I mean that every person has a role and is empowered by the Holy Spirit. No one person, including the pastor, is more important than the least person but all work toward the goal of reaching people with the Gospel, or at least they should. The image of differing materials comprising the functional house of God, speaks volumes about what Jesus intended for the Body of Believers called the church. It's sad that in all my life I've never seen that plan implemented. Instead, it's always one man leading a tier of administrators serving a few teachers who feed the family of God spiritual candy and ice cream. Sad.

Pray it.

Forgive us, God, for we have taken the broad road to destruction and made it look narrow.
