Today's Scripture: "And they made a calf in those days, offered sacrifices to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands." Acts 7:41

There have been so many examples in my life of following a bad lead, I don't know where to start. But considering I landed on my feet to fight another day is amazing. Today, with a plethora of experience and spiritual wisdom to learn from my mistakes, my trouble was not pleasant but was profitable.
Not to blame anyone for my trouble, rarely was my action isolated, but was usually the result of listening to someone else and following them. For example, you'd like to think leaders in church would be qualified and experienced so members could blindly follow. But I've learned that is rarely the case. Instead, it seems the more mature believers are ignored, if even acknowledged, and the leaders are insistent on learning first hand what God taught the ones they ignore. "Will the circle be unbroken" is more than a song question, it's rhetorically prophetical.
Help me, God, to lead those who listen in making right choices and learning from them.
