Today's Scripture: "I and My Father are one.” Jn 10:30

A partnership is two or more people working together toward the same goal. That's a perfect description of the way landscaping is done at our house. My wife loves working in the garden after answering the phone at work all day. A day off is enjoyable when she can pull up weeds in the yard and garden. Because of her limited time to do this, her outdoor projects can linger uncompleted for a long time. I on the other hand am a project manager and start things to see them completed. You can understand the difficulty we might have working together on the same project.
Yesterday I took the initiative to lay the framework for a new garden border my wife recently started. I carefully aligned the decorative bricks with respect to the property line and measured to make certain they were parallel to the side of the house. I set every brick temporarily on top of the ground for my wife to approve. I admit that I was proud of the work and was eager to hear her opinion. "Perfect," she said. I opened my mouth to ask her to repeat what I thought I heard. Then she added, "But I didn't want perfect." Tonight we work to make my perfect work imperfect and enjoy doing it—together.
Thank You, God, for letting me know by the Word and the Spirit exactly what You would do in my position.
