Today's Scripture: "Which our fathers, having received it in turn, also brought with Joshua into the land possessed by the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers until the days of David." Acts 7:45

See it.

Get out of town

Live it.

This morning southern Texas is flooded with water from Tropical storm Harvey and the levels are expected to rise in the days ahead. Video taken from the area this morning show stranded vehicles, people stranded on the roof of their homes and many wading through chest-deep water trying to get to higher ground. Terms like life-threatening were used yesterday to warn people to leave but today catastrophic is the term being used for some who ignored the warning.

Sitting at my desk far from the trouble in Texas, I watch the news this morning and sympathize with the people of Houston. But aside from some of my family living there, I will have to be reminded of their suffering. Not so for Joshua who led the Israelites to the border of the Promised Land. He walked into a land where giants would resist their every move. If they are to survive, God will have to move in their favor at every turn, not just when the flood waters come.

Pray it.

You have my past, present and future in your hands, God, and I am truly blessed among men.
