Today's Scripture: "They shall take the gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and the fine linen, and they shall make the ephod of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen, artistically worked." Ex 28:5-6

See it.

Bend don't break

Live it.

Years of soil erosion and overgrown trees blocking sunlight have turned our backyard into a rocky swamp. Realizing this can only get worse, we undertook a plan to normalize our yard. Then it came. One day of flooding from the rains of Tropical Storm Harvey and our plans changed. We saw the rain water from property above and behind us flow through our yard to a drainage sewer in front of our house. It flowed across multiple points on a bed of pea gravel exposed after soil erosion.

It was apparent that trying to stop the downstream flow of rainwater is impossible so we decided to celebrate it. We plan to make our backyard into a garden built around a system of arroyos. Arroyo is a type of dry-stream rock swale that will contain the water flow to fewer streams. We then will place gardens, planters and sod over what's left. Finally, removal and trimming of certain sun blocking trees while adding a patio cover for enjoying it will complete the artistry. Just what I need, another project.

Pray it.

The artistry of man cannot compare with yours, Heavenly Father.
