Devotional - Monday, October 2, 2017 275/90

Today's Scripture: "It shall be doubled into a square: a span shall be its length, and a span shall be its width." Ex 28:16

5950. Following instructions is a lesson in giving and receiving help. JG

See it.

Live it.

By the front door stands a new coat rack. Long overdue, the simple free-standing device stands erect to hold coats and umbrellas. The previous one would easily fall over due to being unbalanced. But the new one was a project, like so many, that involved assembly and required paying careful attention.

"Do you need help, honey?" That's a reasonable question from a wife to her husband who pretends to have everything under control. "Thanks, but I've got it." That's the usual response from a man being offered help from his wife. Then it's noticed that he assembled the major component with the right fasteners but upside down. This is the moment when a man quietly measures his words. Will he admit to making a mistake and justify not asking for help? You see the picture. We can stop talking about it, right?

Pray it.

I admit my helplessness and utter dependence on You, God.
