Today's Scripture: "You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you." Acts 7:51

Let me out
At the end of the growing season, some plants can be dug up to make way for a new season and new plants. Not knowing where to place a tomato plant that someone gave us, we kept it in a pot in sunlight on top of the soil next to a rose bush. When the last tomato was harvested, picking up the pot required quite a tug. Looking under the container we understood why. Some roots had found weep holes in the bottom of the pot and made their way into the bottomless soil underneath. So it is with us people and sin.
In discussing salvation it's necessary to discuss what it is that we're being saved from. Sin, after it's run ts course in us, will reach hell taking us with it unless we have a Savior. The plant I mentioned was pulled from the soil and discarded. The soil will be reused in season to grow another plant, but the garbage men will pick up the expired plant and discard it. Our body is like an annual plant which grows for a season and dies, but our soul is perennial and never dies. If we allow sin to find fertile soil and prosper within us, our bodies will be buried but we will never find peace. Be smart and let God deal with sin by not giving it a place to grow in your heart.
Thank You for saving me, God. I admit that sin is fun for a season, but salvation is funner.
