Today's Scripture: "The disciples said to Him, 'Rabbi, lately the Jews sought to stone You, and are You going there again?'" Jn 11:8

Calling all ratz
I can't count all the times I've had a close call that could have spelled disaster. In fact, the city in which I live has such a bad reputation for crazy automobile drivers, everyday I don't have an incident is a miracle. But there are some places I avoid like the plague, such as a nearby city. The police there are known for writing questionable citations toward the end of every month to collect taxes and fund their city government. Just sitting behind a steering wheel can tempt fate, but sometimes there is no other option and you just go with caution.
There are many ways I can relate to today's lesson. Today we deal with vermin in the attic and my bird feeding immediately came under scrutiny. I love birds but they do make a mess, leaving seed on the ground under the feeders. Three years ago squirrels and rats caused me to discontinue the practice but this year I doused the seed in hot sauce and caused the vermin to run from it. Now I will daily clean up after my little feathered friends and continue to feed and enjoy them. As for the vermin, they chewed through siding and got into the attic. Its said that Memphis suffers under a rat infestation and not everyone living in Memphis with a rat problem has bird feeders. Birds: You can thank me by not being so messy.
Thank You, God, for cleaning up after me more than once.
