Today's Scripture: "Then Thomas, who is called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, 'Let us also go, that we may die with Him.'" Jn 11:16

See it.

Who's to say?

Live it.

The disciples were called and walked with Jesus three years before they were given the Holy Spirit to seal and empower them. Perhaps that's why the men who listened to Jesus were so slow to understand who He was and what He said. Regardless, had Thomas said to me what he said to Jesus, I might have called him dense and told him to get lost. Then again, the way Jesus was patient with slow learners should inspire us to do no less.

The question posed before the men's prayer time this morning was one most viewed as an simple issue. I asked, "At what point do we, as believers, resist government and run for the hills?" After all, the chip embed and identity/financial protection will soon be introduced as an option. It is, after all, a rational action to protect us from identity theft and bank fraud. But what if by accepting this branding option, you discover it was a deception intended to track you, eliminate cash transactions and isolate trouble-makers?

Questions for the ages: "Are you assuming that your pastor and teachers are spiritual enough to give godly counsel that they live themselves? And can such a questionable decision be justified, or undone, if you later discover it was bad advice?" Will God consider your ignorance of Scripture a forgivable offense? Maybe my questions are not so simple after all.

Pray it.

Grant us, Your people, Jesus, confidence that Your word is all we can trust.
