Today's Scripture: "A disreputable witness scorns justice, and the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity." Pr. 19:28
5997. To speak the truth means we must know the truth. JG
Consider the source
While it would be nice to induce people to honesty, in the real world we give people room to add fantasy, bias and intent to their version of it. We then, attempt to discern the truth based on indisputable evidence and eye-witness accounts that might enforce it. Add the questionable integrity of most lawyers to the mix, and courtrooms are more like a circus, directed by a clown dressed as judge who rules from prejudice.
In recent movies involving super-heroes, comes Diana, better known as Wonder Woman. Of all the tools this fictional Amazon Woman uses, the lasso of truth stands out. Supposedly forged by gods, the lasso is completely unbreakable, immutable, and indestructible. Approximately 150 feet long, it is able to restore people's lost memories, hypnotize people, get rid of illusions, and protect people around it from magical attack. Did I mention that it forces the one it touches to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? Man, could we use that in Washington, DC. Forget that, having it tomorrow in church might lead to revival.
Thank You, God, for never lying and being patient with us who act like we don't.
