Live it.

"If I'd been there . . . ." There's no telling how much time is wasted wondering what would happen if something else were true. Some might call it imagination or dreaming but the result is usually disappointment or depression in what is real. In God's economy, however, good things spring from bad things and if Martha had her way, Jesus would not have had His. In the end, we should imagine what God wants and learn to trust Him.

Romans 12:1-2 is a staple in my teaching of men in rehab about God's will. I talk about their wrong decisions that led to their substance abuse, but more about their right decision to seek help for their addiction. It's important they realize no amount of wrong-doing is enough to escape God's love or void His will, even if they are not looking for it. The way I figure it, they are in store for a big rebound because of all the bad things they've experienced. I urge them to not play the "What if" game with God or they may miss happiness by looking in the wrong place.

Pray it.

Thank You, God, that the plans You have for me are eternally good.
