6011. Skewed looks square when you're wrong. JG
Friend or fiend?
With a degree of pride I was told a heated argument led a brother to escape to the liquor store, buy the biggest bottle of beer he could find, then go to his room and down it. The next day he called to ask me to pray for him as he dealt with the diminished testimony of the other man. I wondered just how far he could sink and believe his head was above water.
Often times I find myself working with someone who expressed a desire to become a disciple. And more times than not, they have a past that's not clean and that's okay. Most every person in the Bible who we call a hero had a suspect past. Their calling required them, however, to put the past behind him and embrace what God wanted, which does not include sinful indulgence.
When You're in control, God, I can trust where we're going.
