It's dangerous to get dressed in the dark. One morning I was told by someone that my sweatshirt was inside out. The garment felt fine and would wear either way, but it was designed for the seams to be on the inside. I was embarrassed when I was made aware of the problem and quickly fixed it. The same is true in our Christian walk. When we claim to follow Christ, we're expected to put on Christ and do what He would do. We shouldn't have to be told what should be obvious. We can't look like and walk like the world and think God doesn't notice (Heb. 12:1-2).
You've heard it said that if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck then it probably is a duck. Well, there's a lot of people who quack like a Christian and walk like the world. That's because they fail to embrace holiness which not only means clean and dedicated but separated. Jesus was in the world but not of it. It shouldn't be a surprise that He expects the same of us.
You are holy, Lord, and worthy of our praise.
