The First Century church was demonstrative for sure. They were outspoken and proactive against sin. It's makes sense that our lazy generation of believers think they don't need to oppose anything. To put it in unspoken terms, most live with the slogan of, "Lay off the one you lay with."
It's a scientific fact that water seeks it's own level. The effect is proven when someone makes a friend of ungodly people and participate in their activities. If godly people disapprove, soon a sinking person will defend their "new" friends and what they do. Finally, the circle is complete when they deny anything is wrong and expect others to stop looking at them.
I need You, God, to vet my friends before You do my enemies.
