6071. What good is equipment you never use? JG
Ready for action
It's routine to see a basketball player on the bench tighten his shoe strings before entering the game. It's the same way for Christians who minister. Their service begins when they prepare by reading Scripture and praying. In days past, the congregation was served by the congregation via one's spiritual giftedness. But these days it appears that "vital" service is a paid and authorized position.
Being a disciple-maker, I'm always looking for a newer believer who wants to serve God. It's hard to catch one of these "fish" before they drift away and become a pew-sitting, sometimes attending, hearer-only of the word. That's because the longer you aren't a doer of the word, it's less likely you will ever be one.
I look to You, God, for my inspiration and ministry assignment.
