Out and in
Every brick and mortar church has a sanctuary where people gather to hear God's word. But every sanctuary has a foyer and every foyer a door to enter in. Outside the door are individuals who gather in the foyer to enter the sanctuary as a congregation.
Yesterday in conversation with another pastor, we agreed that a lack of holy desire is what defines the general church today. Our challenge as leaders is to create a spark that grows to a flame which burns fervently within those who have lost, or never had, a holy desire. Unfortunately, the moment we stop feeding the fire to manage things, desire tends to go out the same door holy came in.
I am thankful, God, that we can have church anywhere and anytime and no bricks need attend.
