6100. The fear of losing something can be a wicked motivator. JG
It was treacherous being a man and graduating from high school when our nation found itself in war against Vietnam. Young men my age were being drafted to go fight other men who didn't want to be there any more than we did. With no desire for a continuing education, I knew there would be a student deferral from the draft as long as I was in school. So off I went to college, the worst example of reasons to go to school. I already had one friend killed over there and another would die a slow death of drugs and depression later. With good reason to avoid being drafted, I had no other motivation but to live to see another day.
I've learned there is nothing to fear, God, when I stand on Your word.
