When I was a boy, I collected and traded baseball cards and still have a few of them. Some will say that was a futile attempt to invest and earn money, but that idea never entered my mind. Instead I got a big piece of bubble gum to chew while I studied the card and added it to my stack. Then I used "expendable" cards as noise-making wheel flappers on my bike tires. Such memories cannot be purchased. I invested my time and today am able to cherish it. Not much has changed now that I am an adult, but I choose to invest time in people rather than things.
I hope my life is pleasing to You, God, because You have much vested in it.
